petite tennis players never fail to turn me on -.- CONFESSION!
anyways how much respect does a GAME freak get? i think that they would be well repected by fellow gamers who share a passion for trying and testing games which spring out of the market constantly.
BUT a DOTA freak is different.
ahhh this confounded game. people play it for a few reasons:
1. it is really a strategic game which puts the mind on the run(rare, only for true gamers)
2. it is addictive on first play
3. all the others are playing so might as well conform.(most likely reason for most playas.)
So what value does a good game like DOTA have at the end of the day? NONE. People play games without appreciating the true value of whats flashing on the screen, so in the case for DOTA, most players dont give a heck about whether its landscape planning is good, the options are varied etc. They just play and play so that the other party gets killed/or whatever.
oh please do not mistake a DOTA freak for a true gamer.
and this brings me to explain why western superiority still exists today. one case is due to us following the gaming trends of the West, but more importantly, us Asians are caught in the undertow of the false interpretations of these trends. cant anybody see we're abusing dota?
yes, few 'gamers' exist in Singapore. probably the minority is sane enough to realise the same as i did. Whatever is new and popular, there will always be the pathetic majority of singaporeans who will crawl all over that game so that they can be counted into the group of followers. i dare to bet that not even one tenth of dota players in my school has ever heard of need for speed, let alone played with it. WHY? cause its not popular.
which is why that teens playing dota as an addiction/habit/sport just for superficial reasons top the Outcast list. Max Payne is a mark of gaming, not some dumb Demon Witch or Omniknight.
this post aint meant to hurt anybody. i just blurted all that out in my quiet time.
