power to create, power to destroy

look at this simple: competing to see who can get the longest string of fries form the bowl of fries. Normally if u pick a short 1, you cant make it longer. However, if competing for the shortest string of fries, you can eat it as much as u want, leaving a bit of potato left.

though crappy , i believe it shows the principle of certain things being hard to create, and easy to lose. many examples lie around us. Todays NDP consists of many performances by many schools. some only last for a few minutes, others can drag on, but all are the result of many months of hard work. Sportsmen train hard, only for a few minutes of competition performance, and if shown as he has been training hard, all he gets is a token of achievement like a medal or a trophy. he would be thinking," i've trained one and a half years for this crap?" Last example, the fireworks display yesterday was very short, but it is obvious that the choreographing took alot of time.

The above are hidden obstacles in life, always challenging man to fight against them, and the end result may never be what is expected of the effort. you may have heard of "you reap what you sow", and would have sacrificed alot, but the returns may be menial. It is how we accept these rewards that shows our character and mindset.

So, coming back to the fireworks, it was destined to be jiayi's fault for everything today. first fault:we went ot the end of the bridge in front of Fullerton to get a good view of the fireworks. she saw that it was quite empty at the merlion area and suggested going there. like, if the whole bridge is crowded already, wouldnt it be weird if the merlion area was empty? i told her that, but we still went down anyway. so when we found out that the area was restricted to members of a club, we were so angry at her. we went back up to the bridge, only to find out that the good place we had earlier on was taken up(second fault). we still managed to get good seats though.

in the hour - long wait for the fireworks to start, we played many lammmme games, one including some telepathy game. dis i dun really wanna elaborate...

yay!poofpoof!yay!woo! after the fireworks were all over, ifelt like a total moron. SO MUCH WALKING AND SQUEEZING FOR SOME LOUSY FIREWORKS??? i felt like strangling myself...i'll add this as jia yi's fault as well....

we went to marina square aft that, walking based on jia yi's sense of direction(i let her do the leading, though i'm very familiar with marina square), got lost, and IT'S ALL HER FAULT! lol, my legs were starting to crumble...in the end we went home, all dead tired, but with a wonderful new experience. one hellova night i'll nvr 4get...
